Waterloo Vintage Fair – Fund Raising for St Josephs Hospice
I have long been a supporter of our local Jospice (St Josephs Hospice) in Thornton, indeed many years ago, after my mothers death, my own family donated a wooden bench seat and a Rowan tree which is planted within he Jospice’s lovely woodland setting. So when an opportunity arose to help boost attendance at a local Vintage Fair by providing an additional attraction, by way of a Classic Motorcycle display, John and I were only too pleased to be able to help.
The one day Vintage Fair event was held at Old Christ Church, Waterloo on 28th September 2013, inside there were lots of fund raising activities and even the chance to buy tickets to enter the Jospice Draw to win a brand new Ford KA. Although to the best of my knowledge no one that we knew won it.
The September weather was very kind to us and we were supported by our friends and colleagues many of whom are members of our local section of the VMCC. The display of Classic motorcycles prompted additional visitors and the day was a success for all concerned.
One of the organisers from St Josephs, Jaana, even managed to grab a ride around the church grounds on the back of Peter Rose’s Triumph. All in all another great day with the opportunity for like minded motorcyclists to help boost the coffers of a very well know, well respected local organisation, that does so much good for those much less fortunate than ourselves.
St. Josephs Hospice is a Registered Charity, Number 1090151
